ELLISON LETTER MACHINE AND DIE POLICY

AALS general guidelines concerning the use of the Ellison machines & dies:

  1. The AALS Office has assorted colors of construction paper available to cut out letters and shapes.

  2. Contact the Office Assistant (Diane Jones) to request up to 100 copies of a shape. You may make more copies on your own in the AALS Office or you may check out dies. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the copies to be made and sent back to your library.

  3. The machine is heavy so it will remain in the AALS Office.

  4. You may use the dies and machine anytime you are in the AALS Office. For safety reasons, please ask the AALS staff for a quick demonstration before you use the machine for the first time.

  5. If you want cut-outs of special material, you must purchase the material with your own funds. You may ship the special material to the AALS Office if you want us to do the cutting.

  6. Dies will now circulate to member libraries for two weeks. You may check out up to two (2) dies at one time. If you check out the dies, you will need to mail them back to AALS at your library’s expense. Your library will be held responsible should any dies be damaged or lost.

Special materials, such as sponges and vinyl are available from the Ellison Company and are listed in their catalog. Call the AALS Office if you would like a list of materials available from them.
