Online Learning

The Alamo Area Library System is pleased to report that we have greatly expanded our offering of LE@D online classes.  Instead of just one class per month, you now have access to approximately 40.

There is a wide variety of classes available including:

*Grant Writing Basics *Privacy and Confidentiality *Managing Difficult People With Confidence *Retailing Methods and Techniques *Improving Co-Worker Relations *Info-Age Etiquette *Reaching Teenagers *Basic Budgeting *Trends in Children’s Literature

And lots more!  If you want to learn the basics or need a refresher, LE@D offers courses in Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher

For information on each class, see the course descriptions on the LE@D Web site. Any courses listed under the Library or School Library tab are open to AALS and SAPL.

 To register:

---Call Diane Jones (210-207-2609) and request the coupon code.

---Go to the LE@D home page and see Account Login.

---Login if you’re a return user or set up an account if it’s your first time

---Under the heading of LE@D for Individuals on the left side, click Courses.

---Scroll either the Library courses or School Library courses alphabetical list to find the class you want to take and click Add to Shopping Bag

---Enter the coupon code you received from Diane and click Apply

---Total should read $0.00*.  Click Proceed to Check Out and follow prompts to confirm your class.

---You will receive a confirmation email from LE@D after registering.

---Anytime this month, login and click My Classes to take the course.

*AALS picks up the cost of LE@D coursesIf the total does not say $0.00, click Account Information and make sure Alamo Area Library System is selected under Organization.

IMPORTANT—If you register, please complete the class.  AALS must pay LE@D for every registrant, whether they finish or not.  You may take as many classes as you feel certain you will finish.

Each course will take approximately 1 ½ hours to complete and if you don’t finish in one sitting, you may pick up where you left off later.  Please finish the course during the same month you start it.  This will make our tracking for statistics more manageable.  Successful completion of each course is worth two CE credits.

LE@D classes aren’t limited to library managers; please share with anyone on your staff or volunteers who might benefit from it.
